CHMELENKO ANTIQES  is run by Yulia Chmelenko, assyriologist, art historian, and art consultant.

I  work as an independent antique dealer and consultant, advising private clients and collectors.

I am a member of International Association For Assyriology (IAA), International Association of Art Critics (AICA).

I received my BA in Art History from Saint-Petersburg State University and then went on to study at the Chicago State University. My studies have given me the opportunity to travel all over the world learning every aspect of the antique business including administration, curation and exhibition.

I appreciate and am invested in all aspects of antique market, however, my focus has always been Ancient Near East Art. I received my MRes degree from the Birmingham University, Cuneiform and Ancient Near Eastern Studies. The core of my research was the iconography and textual background of the relief sculptures from the palace of Ashurnasirpal II (884-859 BCE) now housed primarily in the British Museum where I continue my research as an assistant curator of Ancient Near Eastern Department (voluntary position).

I have been selling antiques since 2007 and have been consulting and appraising for private collectors, galleries and businesses since 2010. I established myself as an independent antique advisor in 2013. In addition to these, I have undertaken a number of curatorial projects and Media programs in Russia, Turkey, Morocco and Great Britain.

I really love the hunt for items to sell. If you can't find what you are looking for on my web site, contact me and I will find antiques especially for you!
